Nanobots are machines of microscopic proportions, so small that they must be measured in nanometers, which is equivalent to one billionth of a meter.

Nanorobotics is the branch of engineering that seeks the manufacturing of nanometer-sized robots. In reality, nanotechnology is still in its infancy, but it has the enormous potential to build from atoms, which in principle would allow for the creation of all kinds of things, such as chemical substances, biological agents, mechanical cells, etc.

Nanobots are nanometer robots that will be able to directly attack bacteria and viruses or build other machines and objects from atoms.
